CENTRAL TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST (CTET) Important Dates to Remember :

• Submission of On-line application through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in - 01-08-2018 (Wednesday) – 27-08-2018 (Monday)
• Last Date for submission of online application form -  27-08-2018 (Monday) upto 17.00 hrs
• Last Date for submission of fee through E-challan or Debit/Credit Card - 30-08-2018 (Thursday) before 3.30 p.m
• Final verification of payment of fee by the candidates. - 04-09-2018 (Tuesday)
• On-line Corrections if any, in the Particulars uploaded by the candidate - 06-09-2018 (Thursday) to 10-09-2018 (Monday) ( No corrections shall be allowed under any circumstances after this date)
• Identity proof to be brought by the candidates to the examination centre - Downloaded Admit Card and valid ID Proof (any of the following) documents such as “PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License etc.

ELIGIBILITY Criteria to Apply for CTET 

1.1 Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V:  Primary Stage

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.

OR

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

1.2 Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII:  Elementary Stage 

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year  Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year  Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.

OR

Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET. 

Note:

 a)    Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be  allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled. 

b)    Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education: For the purposes of this Notification, a Diploma/Degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered. 

c)    Training to be undergone: A person with D.Ed (Special Education) or qualification shall undergo, after appointment , an NCTE recognized 6-month Special Programme in Elementary Education.

d)    The minimum qualifications referred above apply to teachers of Languages, Social Studies/Social Science, Mathematics, Science etc. In respect of teachers for Physical Education, the minimum qualification norms for Physical Education teachers referred to in NCTE Regulation, dated 3rd November, 2001 (as amended from time to time) shall be applicable.  For teachers of Art Education, Craft Education, Home Science, Work Education, etc. the existing eligibility norms prescribed by the State Governments and other school managements shall be applicable till such time the NCTE lays down the minimum qualifications in respect of such teachers.

 e)    A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 29th July 2011 shall be eligible for appearing in the CTET.

 f)     The candidate should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test it does not imply that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified.  It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment.  The eligibility shall be finally verified, by the concerned recruiting agency / appointing authority.

General Information about CTET

In  accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and 29th JULY, 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII.  It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in Clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

The rationale for including the TET as a minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher is as under:

1. It would bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process;
2. It would induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards;
3. It would send a positive signal to all stakeholders that the Government lays special emphasis on teacher quality
4. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi.   

• Candidates are advised to refer only authentic Text Books and syllabus suggested by NCTE for preparation in area of education

Instructions to Fill CTET Online Application Form 2018iP

1. Please read the Information Bulletin of CTET 2018 carefully before you start filling the Online Application   Form. 2. Candidates can apply for CTET 2018 ‘ON-LINE’ through website www.ctet.nic.in For ‘ON-LINE’ SUBMISSION - www.ctet.nic.in Candidates can apply ‘ON-LINE’ at Board’s website www.ctet.nic.in. The candidate should supply all details while filling the Online Form. Candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated  Confirmation Page with Registration Number after successful submission of data. 3. Candidates are not required to send hard copy of confirmation page to CTET unit. However, the candidates are advised to retain the hard copy of the application i.e. confirmation page, challan if fees is paid by challan, for future reference. 4. Examination Fees Category Only Paper – I or II Both Paper – I & II General / OBC Category Rs. 700 /- (Seven Hundred) Rs. 1200 /- (Twelve hundred) SC / ST / Differently Abled Category Rs. 350 /- (Three Hundred and fifty) Rs. 600 /- (Six Hundred) GST (as applicable) will be charged extra by the Bank The fee can be remitted in the following ways: • Remittance through E-Challan by depositing the prescribed fee in CTET Exam Fee Account with Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank. • By Debit/Credit Card. 5. Application Procedure: 4 Simple Steps to be followed to apply online Step 1: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down system generated Registration  No./Application No. The candidate should supply all details while filling the Online Form.  After successful submission of the data, Registration No. will be generated and it will be used to complete the remaining Steps of the Application Form and also required for all  future correspondence. Step 2: Upload Scanned Images of latest Photograph and Signature Note : The scanned images of latest photographs and signature should be in jpg format. Size of the photo image must be greater than 10 kb and less than 100 kb. Size of the signature image must be greater than 3 kb and less than 30 kb. Image Dimension of photograph should be 3.5 cm(width) * 4.5 cm(Height) only Image Dimension of signature should be 3.5 cm(length) * 1.5 cm(Height) only * NOTE : The candidate particulars can be edited till the payment of fees has not been made. Once the payment of fees has been made, candidate particulars cannot be edited at this stage. Thereafter corrections can be made only during the period in which online  correction will be allowed as per the given schedule of CTET 2018 . No change will be  accepted through offline mode i.e. through fax/application or by email etc.  No correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Step 3: Pay Examination Fee by challan or debit card/credit card: For Payment by Syndicate Bank/ CANARA Bank challan: The candidate shall first  select “Bank e-Challan” and then select the bank. Then an e-Challan will be generated  containing details of the candidate along with amount to be paid as per their category  and paper(s) opted. The candidate has to take a printout of the same and take it to the nearest Core Banking Service (CBS) facility enabled Branch of the respective Bank for making payment. Once the payment has been confirmed by the Bank/CBSE, a confirmation  page will be generated.                 OR  Candidate can also pay fee by Debit/Credit Card. Step 4: Print Confirmation Page for your record and future reference. 6. All Steps are mandatory, On-line application submission will be considered as complete only  after receipt of “Confirmation Page” by candidate.
